What is Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry, (ICP-OES)?

ICP-OES is an analytical instrument that uses high-temperature plasma to excite atoms of metals, causing them to emit light. The emitted light is then detected and analyzed to accurately identify and quantify the metals in a sample. It is ideal for testing heavy metals in agricultural and herbal products.

How It Works

ICP-OES uses high-temperature plasma generated by radiofrequency induction to excite elements in the sample, causing them to emit light with unique spectral characteristics. The instrument captures and analyzes these light signals to determine the types and quantities of metals present. This technique enables multi-element detection with high accuracy.
